Knox Van Dyke, Ph.D.

35 Years of service

Knox Van Dyke was recently recognized in the department for 35 years of service to the University. After receiving his PhD from St. Louis University, Knox was recruited to Morgantown as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Pharmacology. In 1969, Knox joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor and he rose through the ranks to full Professor. In 2001, Knox joined the Department of Biochemistry when the Department of Pharmacology merged with the Biochemistry and Physiology departments. He has maintained a major commitment to teaching in the professional pharmacology programs throughout his tenure at WVU. Knox has had a productive research career at WVU and made significant contributions in multiple areas including malarial research, inflammation and oxidative stress.
