Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cell Biology students present posters at 2018 Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium

Two students from the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cell Biology presented posters at the 2018 Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium.

SURE is a summer undergraduate research experience for students interested in graduate school and research/creative work within their discipline or a related discipline. Selected students complete research at WVU for 8 weeks during the summer under the direction of a WVU faculty research mentor and a graduate or post-doctoral mentor.

Jordan Vance, under the direction of Cory Robinson, Ph.D., won second place in the Health Sciences Category. Vance is an immunology and medical microbiology major and honors student from South Charleston, WV. She was a participant in the SURE program and was funded by the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cell Biology.

Annalisa B. Huckaby, under the direction of Mariette Barbier, Ph.D.,  won first place in the Biological Sciences category. Huckaby is a chemistry major and honors student from Morgantown, WV. She was a participant in the SURE program and was funded by a NSF LSAMP KY-WV Mid-Level Alliance Phase II grant.
