Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days® Kick-off Walk

Monday, April 16, 2018

Event Location: Main lobby, J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital (meeting spot)

The Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days® campaign will mark its 24th year with a walk that will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 16, from the front of the hospital. All employees are welcome to participate in the one-mile walk (weather permitting).

The walk will be led by West Virginia University Mountaineer Trevor Kiess and the West Virginia Black Bears mascot, Cooper. Also joining the walk will be Clara Santucci, a former All-American WVU cross country and track athlete and now an accomplished marathon runner. Santucci has won the Pittsburgh Marathon twice and placed in the top five in the Chicago Marathon; she participated in two Olympic trial marathons. Live music will be provided by the WVU Bluegrass Ensemble.

Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days® is an event created by The Wellness Center at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. This year’s program will run from April 16 through July 24. The program encourages participants to develop the habit of walking at least one mile a day as a form of exercise.
