WVU Cancer Institute faculty and students publish article on clinical oncology training
Vona-Davis, PhD, Department of Surgery and colleagues from the WVU Cancer Institute, co-authored a recent publication in the journal Cancer Research that focused on how clinical oncology concepts are taught to PhD students. In the article, “Methods of Academic Course Planning for Cancer Biology Ph.D. Students to Enhance Knowledge of Clinical Oncology”, the authors surveyed faculty and students at PhD training programs in the United States to assess their methods of clinical oncology education. Authors included Malcolm Mattes (Dept. of Radiation Oncology); Elizabeth Swart (Eberly College of Arts and Sciences); Cancer Cell Biology PhD student Steve Markwell; Sijin Wen (Dept. of Biostatistics); and Vona-Davis (Dept. of Surgery and Office of Research and Graduate Education).
