WVU Medicine Brain and Spine opens in Hagerstown

John Caruso, MD

A new WVU Medicine clinic – one that will provide brain and spine care to patients in western Maryland and southeastern Pennsylvania – opened recently in Hagerstown, Md.

John Caruso, MD, a board certified neurosurgeon who has practiced in the area for the past 20 years, will offer neurosurgery services at WVU Medicine Brain and Spine, formerly Parkway Brain and Spine. Along with the Hagerstown clinic, another WVU Medicine clinic specializing in brain and spine will open in mid-September at Berkeley Medical Center.

Dr. Caruso will also serve as director of neurological surgery at WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg. He is also on the staff at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

“Our expansion reflects the demand for WVU Medicine services not only in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia but also the surrounding region,” Charles Rosen, MD, PhD, chair of WVU Medicine neurosurgery, said. “We are committed to improving the health of the citizens of this region.”

WVU Medicine Brain and Spine is located at 13 Western Maryland Parkway, Suite 106, in Hagerstown. The Martinsburg office will be located at 880 Tennessee Avenue.
