Message from the Director

Welcome to the web page for the West Virginia University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program. The information contained on these pages is intended to give an overview of the residency program here in Morgantown, West Virginia.

We are extremely proud of our program and of our residents, both present and past. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology currently provides a four year residency with three residents in each level of training. The program is arranged so that the individual resident has increasing responsibility in all areas of Obstetrics and Gynecology throughout the four years. We offer experience in general Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as in all subspecialty areas including, perinatology, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology, infertility, and urogynecology. We are extremely proud of our new state of the art In-Vitro Fertilization Center and the exciting opportunities for the future.

A close working relationship exists between faculty and residents. There is constant availability for supervision, although autonomy is both encouraged and respected. Conferences are scheduled throughout the week. Again, a complete list of both faculty, staff and residents, as well as the current conference and education schedule, can be viewed on other pages of this site.

Our residents are a wonderful group of physicians. They work hard and provide outstanding care. They do so in an atmosphere of education, support and camaraderie. We all enjoy what we do and we enjoy being in West Virginia. Choosing a residency is an important decision. I invite you to look over our site and I certainly welcome any further interest.
