Established in 2007 by the family of Patricia Fedeles who served as the coordinator for the two year long Physical Diagnosis/clinical Integration course from 1992 to 2006 upon her retirement. Mrs. Fedeles lost her battle with cancer in 2007. The award recognizes a second year medical student who portrays ongoing compassion, friendlieness, and an overall caring attitude towards pateints, peers, and faculty. The first award was presented by Course Director Dorian Williams, and the family members of Mrs. Fedeles, including her husband Darrell, and her daughters Theresa Marthey and Cheryl Walton.
