NOTICES:

ALL STUDENTS - TOUR GUIDES NEEDED to assist the Class of 2015, during Orientation on Thursday, August 11, afternoon (same time as Organization Fair).  Please RSVP this address if you are available to help us; community service (school hours) available. 

 

ALL STUDENTS – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR FAMILY ORIENTATION:  The Alumni Office is in need of volunteers for Family Orientation on Friday, August 12, 2:30 – 5:30pm.  You will receive community service hours.

 

ALL STUDENTS:  Review your registration as per directions in your sections below and attachments. (Remember select your correct computer fee). Registration reports being run Monday August 8th.

ALL STUDENTS - FALL TUITION/FEES PROCESSING began late July.  Aid will disburse the week of August 15, but students may not receive refunds until the first week of official university classes – August 22. ALL FOURTH YEAR STUDENTS!!!  FALL REGISTRATION ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGE IN DIRECTIONS:   Please REMOVE your clinical skills performance course, crn #86055.  ALL other courses are open for complete registration.  Double check that you have the courses as attached.  Remember to register for ONLY your campus section of ccmd 788.

 

MS 3/Class of 2013:

MS3 FALL REGISTRATION:  Confirm your registration for Block 2 and Block 3 rotation, selecting the correct block dates and campus.  As soon as we have the Block 3 OBGYN crns we will notify you.  Registration of Block 2 and computer fee will = 9 hours (full time) and ensure your correct processing. 

 

MS 2/ Class of 2014: 

PEER ADVISOR LUNCH:  Friday, August 19; box lunches will be provided.  Everything else is at your scheduling convenience – but don’t be shy J  Thanks!

ERAS TRANSCRIPT – Before ordering an ERAS transcript you must confirm with Laura Florence that your transcript is correct and all grades have posted. You can check on STAR for any mistakes and consult with Laura. lforence@hsc.wvu.edu  304.347.1210. Once you are ready to order after confirming with Laura, please see Charissa Davis for a SPECIAL ERAS TRANSCRIPT REQUEST FORM.  Please note the registrar will only accept a $9.00 money order or certified check.

 

4th year Meeting with Dr. Griffith- please contact the Office of Student Services to schedule your meeting with Dr. Griffith to review your personal statement and CV.

Health Sciences Scholarship Program- Brochures and Information are available in the Student Services office.  25 scholarships are available to fourth year students’ worth up to $20,00. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to primary care and serving in WV for a minimum of 2 years in an underserved area.  For more information contact lboone@hepc.wvnet.edu

 

MS3 / Class of 2013

THIRD YEAR EASTERN STUDENT FALL REGISTRATION courses are being adjusted by the Registrar’s Office.  Stay tuned for email this week from Jane/Pam with courses for submission of your registration.  Thank you for patience.

 

Parking at City-  All students- please park in either the Eastern Division Building parking lot, or the McCormack Center parking lot. 

Students may not park in the physician parking lot and the hospital security team is watching! 

 

Osler Students- All Osler students who have not yet received their ID badges from Frederick Memorial Hospital will travel to Frederick on the morning of Aug.12 following M & M at City Hospital.  The plan is to carpool.   

 

Morbidity and Mortality Conference- Trauma Case, Fri. Aug. 12, 8:00am,  8th floor classroom.

Student presenters,- Alex Torres, Sallyann Cusma, and Justin Arner. 

 

All MSIII students will be introduced to the membership of The Eastern Panhandle Medical Society at the September 14th meeting. This will be held at the Purple Iris in Martinsburg and the speaker is Dr Edward Kiggundu.  He will be speaking on the effects of radiation therapy on cancer patients.  A flier will be sent prior to the meeting for a reminder.
