Surgical Oncology
The Division of Surgical Oncology provides surgical care and interdisciplinary treatment for patients with various malignancies. This division performs more than 850 surgical procedures per year. In addition, surgical oncologists work closely with other cancer specialists in a team approach to providing comprehensive care for cancer.
Our faculty have extensive clinical experience in treating individual cancers such as breast, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, gastrointestinal tract tumors, and colon and rectal cancers, along with a broad understanding of the latest cancer treatment modalities. We typically team with other experts in surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, and complementary medicine in the care of cancer patients.
Faculty members within the division have presented nationally at the Society of Surgical Oncology, the Society of Surgery for the Alimentary Tract, the Association of Veteran’s Administration Surgeons, the American Hepatopancreaticobiliary Surgery Association, and the American College of Surgeons.
