Affiliated Rotation Sites

Urology residents receive the majority of their training at West Virginia University Hospitals (WVUH). This 500 bed acute care hospital is a Level I trauma center. Significant numbers of urological cases are performed annually including all aspects of urological oncology. Outpatients are seen in the attached Physicians Office Center. The hospital is equipped with a DiVinci Robot. Drs. Stanley Kandzari (Urology Division Chief) and Stanley Zaslau (Urology Residency Program Director) supervise resident training at this site.

Urology residents also rotate to the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV to gain additional clinical experience.

The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center (VAMC) is a 107 bed acute care hospital located in Clarksburg, West Virginia and serves a veteran population of approximately 70,000 in north central West Virginia and adjacent counties in Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania. In FY07 the medical center treated 19,554 unique patients through 216,090 outpatient visits and 3,541 admissions. Dr. Douglas McKinney supervises resident training at this facility. Residents will rotate to the VAMC on a case-by-case basis commensurate with their level of training as per the Urology Resident Goals and Objectives. Approximately 350 cases are performed annually.
