Memorial Service

Remains of donors are not released at the time of the memorial service. Once a donors study is completed, the ash request recipient will be notified.

A memorial service is held annually at WVU's Health Sciences Center to honor all those persons whose bodies were received during the year by the WVU Gift Registry. Family members and friends of donors are invited to attend. Following death, donors' names are permanently inscribed on certificates, then bound in memorial volumes housed in the WVU Health Sciences Center, where family members may view them. Our service is open to all family and friends of the donors who have entered into our program.

The memorial vault is shown in a summer setting with a tree in the foreground.
