Clinical Pharmacy Assistant Professor

West Virginia University is seeking faculty in ambulatory clinical pharmacy at the Assistant Professor rank. Position will primarily be located at the WVU Rural Family Medicine Residency clinic in Harpers Ferry, WV, but will also work in Martinsburg at the HSC-Eastern Division office at least one day per week. Job duties include: provide pharmacy counseling for patients in PCMH clinic, teach medical students, pharmacy students, family medicine residents and pharmacy residents; scholarly activities are highly encouraged. Must have a PharmD degree and completed at least 1 year of residency training. WV Pharmacy License and DEA registration are both required by start date.

The WVU Health Sciences Center-Eastern Division operates 7 primary care clinics and is expanding the patient-centered medical home clinical pharmacy role at the flagship Harpers Ferry Family Medicine Center. Faculty will collaborate with family medicine and pharmacy faculty in transitions of care and chronic illness care efforts with Jefferson Medical Center. Jefferson Medical Center recently (2016) received Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in US by the National Rural Health Association. WVU Faculty of multiple disciplines enjoy the benefits of practicing at a critical access hospital affiliated with the WVU School of Medicine.

Our Eastern Panhandle location is little more than an hour from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD. A rural atmosphere and a lower cost of living mixed with the easy accessibility to the Washington / Baltimore areas make the Eastern Panhandle an ideal place in which to live. While our location is among the fastest growing areas in the state, there is little congestion and traffic. In recent years, a steady influx of professionals from nearby Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland - have contributed to the growth of local telecommuting and high-tech industries.

Academic rank will be commensurate with experience with joint appointments in the School of Medicine (Family Medicine Department) and the School of Pharmacy.
