Invasive Interventional Cardiology Assistant Professor – WVU Eastern Division
West Virginia University is seeking Assistant (or Associate) Professor for invasive interventional cardiology positions. Positions are primarily clinical; hours vary and includes STEMI call. Positions will be based in Berkeley County. Job duties include: clinical time in outpatient clinic; teaching medical students and residents; hospital and call coverage are required; and scholarly activities are highly encouraged. Must have MD or DO degree and successfully completed an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program and a fellowship in Cardiology. WV Medical License, DEA certificate, and local hospital privileges are required by start date. Candidates should be BC or BE in Cardiovascular Disease or Interventional Cardiology and BC in Internal Medicine. Our department provides a broad range of services including invasive interventional cardiology, echocardiology, nuclear cardiology, and peripheral vascular procedures.
Berkeley Medical Center (BMC) is a 195-bed licensed facility, with 55,000 ED visits annually. Also includes 20-bed ICU which was recently updated. BMC has new NICU with more than 1,000 births annually. BMC also has wound care center with two hyperbaric chambers.
Our Eastern Panhandle location is little more than an hour from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD. A rural atmosphere and a lower cost of living mixed with the easy accessibility to the Washington DC / Baltimore areas make the Eastern Panhandle an ideal place in which to live. While Berkeley County is among the fastest growing counties in the state, there is little congestion and traffic. In recent years, a steady influx of urban professionals from nearby Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland - have contributed to the growth of local industry.
