Sports Medicine / Family Medicine Assistant (or Associate) Professor

West Virginia University is seeking an Assistant (or Associate) Professor for its School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine Eastern Division. Position is primarily clinical (outpatient) based in Jefferson or Berkeley counties WV and may include hospital coverage at Jefferson and Berkeley Medical Centers. Job duties include: provide clinical care and teach medical students and family medicine residents in all aspects of family medicine; scholarly activities are highly encouraged. Position is full-time, hours vary. Must have an M.D. degree or equivalent and successfully completed an ACGME certified residency training in Family Medicine and a fellowship in Sports Medicine. WV Medical License and DEA registration are both required by start date. Candidates should be BC/BE in Family Medicine.

Jefferson County WV is just over 60 minutes from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD. A rural atmosphere and a lower cost of living mixed with the easy accessibility to the Washington / Baltimore areas make the Eastern Panhandle of WV an ideal place in which to live. While Jefferson County is among the fastest growing Counties in the state, there's very little congestion and traffic. In recent years, a steady influx of urban professionals from nearby Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland - have contributed to the growth of local telecommuting and high-tech industries.
