Digestive Diseases-General Gastroenterologists

West Virginia University School of Medicine announces openings for general gastroenterologists in the Department of Medicine. Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency program and gastroenterology fellowship. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials.

The Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center has a full complement of academic programs in the clinical and basic sciences. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and internal medicine residents. Opportunities also exist in clinical research.

U.S. News & World Report has ranked West Virginia University Hospitals #1 in the state for the past several years.  WVUH provides the most advanced level of care available to the citizens of West Virginia and bordering states.  Major expansion is underway to Ruby Memorial Hospital, adding a 10-story tower and an additional 114 licensed beds.  WVU Medicine has also opened a three story, 110,000 square foot ambulatory care facility to help address the growing demand for services and has broken ground on an ambulatory surgery center adjacent to the new clinic. Physicians will also have the opportunity to practice in an additional WVU Medicine clinic in Fairmont, WV, projected to open in the summer of 2017.
