West Virginia University School of Medicine and the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute  seek an Electrophysiologist for a faculty position to provide services in Morgantown, WV and also to provide outreach services i for the WVU Medicine Heart and Vascular Institute. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, internal medicine residents and cardiology fellows. Opportunities also exist in clinical research.

While this position will be primarily based in Morgantown, the WVU Heart Institute operates several satellite clinics whereby all section faculty have the opportunity to participate at the discretion of the department.

U.S. News & World Report ranked West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown as a top hospital in the state for the last four years. WVUH is a 645 bed hospital system, providing tertiary referral services and the most advanced level of care available to the citizens of West Virginia and bordering states. Major expansion is underway to Ruby Memorial Hospital, adding a 10-story Heart and Vascular tower with an additional 114 licensed beds. A new three story, 110,000 square foot ambulatory care facility has recently opened to help address the growing demand for services. The Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center has a full complement of academic programs in the clinical and basic sciences.

Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be board certified in internal medicine and board certified/eligible in electrophysiology. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials.
