The West Virginia University Department of Anesthesiology is recruiting a full-time faculty member to lead a new section of Neuroanesthesiology. The ideal candidate would have experience in all phases of anesthesia care of neurosurgery patients, including surgical suite, critical care and radiologic suite care. Approximately 1,700 neurosurgical operations will be performed this year, and increase to 2,000 cases next year.
Candidates must be board-certified, or board eligible and actively pursuing board certification Responsibilities include education of residents and medical students. Opportunities are available for those interested in clinical/basic research. Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited anesthesiology residency program. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials.
