Pediatric Infectious Disease
West Virginia University, Department of Pediatrics, Section of Infectious Diseases at West Virginia University School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a third faculty member position at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level in the clinical track at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center in Morgantown, WV. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will be actively involved in teaching medical students and resident trainees. Opportunities exist to participate in clinical and translational research.
Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited pediatrics or medicine-pediatrics residency program and infectious diseases fellowship and hold board certification or be eligible in pediatrics. Subsequent Pediatric subspecialty certification in Infectious Diseases will be an expectation.
Clinical responsibilities include a very active inpatient and ambulatory care program, and current Division faculty play a very active role on the Cystic Fibrosis service, which is an accredited CF Foundation Center (top-10 pediatric center) and a Therapeutic Development Center for clinical research and clinical trials. The Section’s educational programs include a very active Global Health Program and Tropical Medicine Course.

We have the only cardiothoracic surgery program in the state, and we offer surgical interventions for the full range of congenital heart defects.
