The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at West Virginia University School of Medicine and WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital is seeking full-time pediatric pulmonologists with excellent clinical skills and a commitment to teaching. The successful candidates will have experience with pediatric flexible bronchoscopy and interest in respiratory management of technology-dependent children or sleep medicine. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the selected faculty will be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and pediatric residents.
Qualified applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be ABP board certified in general pediatrics and certified or eligible in pediatric pulmonary. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials.
The division is currently staffed with support from a research coordinator, a nurse coordinator, a dietician, a pharmacist, committed pediatric respiratory therapists and social work support. WVU’s Mountain State Cystic Fibrosis Center is a CF-Therapeutics Development Network Center and is staffed with a full time nurse coordinator, research coordinators, dietician, pharmacist and social work support, and overseen by Pediatric ID. The center’s respiratory data are among the best in the country. We have an AASM accredited sleep lab and pediatric sleep disorders clinic.
WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital is the premier site within the state for primary through tertiary care of children. The department has close working relationships with colleagues in the pediatric surgical subspecialties and pediatric radiology.
