West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry is recruiting a psychiatrist to assume a faculty position at our new Comprehensive Pain Management Center in Morgantown, WV. This Psychiatrist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team at the Comprehensive Pain Center to treat individuals with pain and the side effects of pain. The multi-disciplinary team on site will include therapists, psychologists, acupuncturists, chiropractors and physical movement training. The Responsibilities for this non‑tenure, assistant professor clinical emphasis track position include various opportunities for outpatient care of both young adults as well general outpatient psychiatric patients. Additional responsibilities include teaching and supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents, service across both the Main and Health Science Campuses at WVU, and scholarship with opportunities for research.
Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be board certified / eligible in psychiatry. They will join our Department which provides a broad range of services including inpatient, outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, assertive community treatment, tele psychiatry and ECT. We also have a busy consult liaison service. In addition to our faculty of psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, psychologists and social workers, we also employ clinical therapists and case managers. We provide training for a variety of disciplines including psychology, neuropsychology, nursing, social work, counseling and medical students. We have 28 general psychiatry residents and have fellowships in child and adolescent psychiatry and forensic psychiatry.
The Comprehensive Pain Management Center is an innovative clinic that will offer multi-disciplinary collaboration and treatment for individuals with pain and chronic pain. This is a provider referred pain clinic and patients will receive on site same day multiple services and collaboration treatment planning. The Comprehensive Pain Management Center will feature the following services: chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, nutrition, behavioral therapy, psychological assessments and psychiatric medication management along with physical movement services.
