Information For Applicants

Welcome To WVU!

We are excited that you are interested in our Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Our program accepts applicants through ERAS. In order to be considered for an interview, a completed application must be submitted via ERAS by December 1st. To be complete, an application must include:

  • ERAS Application Form
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Board Scores
  • Personal Statement
  • Dean's Letter
  • Three Letters of Recommendation, SLOR preferred

In addition to properly submitting a completed application through the ERAS service, all candidates must be deemed eligible for residency at our institution, as defined by our Office of Graduate Medical Education. For more details about specific eligibility requirements please click here.

If you are a Foreign Medical Graduate, you can only be considered for a residency position if you are certified by the ECFMG. We may elect to offer an interview to a candidate who’s certification is currently pending, but the potential for being included in our rank list will be dependent upon your ability to provide a valid ECFMG certificate, prior to our rank list being submitted.

Our Resident Selection Committee seriously considers all applications submitted. We review all aspects of applications in deciding who to invite to interview. Personal interviews will be offered to selected candidates after applications are reviewed. Our program interviews from November through January of each year.

We wish you success in the matching process. Should you have further questions, please feel free to contact:
