Pre-Medical Pipeline Programs

The following pipeline programs were established for select undergraduate students at our partnership universities to provide exposure to the medical profession and mentorship through the application process. Students who enter our pipeline programs must express an overall desire to become a physician and must be interested in the WVU School of Medicine as a potential school of enrollment.  

MedSTEP

This program was established in April 2003 as a joint partnership between Shepherd University and the WVU School of Medicine. MedSTEP students will be mentored by our staff and faculty from the WVU School of Medicine Eastern Campus.

Waynesburg University Pre-Medical Track 

This program was established in September 2014 as joint partnership between Waynesburg University and the WVU School of Medicine. Students will be mentored by our staff and faculty from the WVU School of Medicine Morgantown Campus.

The application for this program opens for rising sophomores each spring. To learn more about this program please email lwamsle2@hsc.wvu.edu.

West Virginia State University Pre-Medical Track 

This program was established in July 2016 as a joint partnership between West Virginia State University and the WVU School of Medicine. Students will be mentored by our staff and faculty from the WVU School of Medicine Charleston Campus.

The application for this program opens for sophomores each Fall. To learn more about this program please email lwamsle2@hsc.wvu.edu.

West Virginia University Pre-Medical Track 

This program was established in September of 2015. Students at WVU will be mentored by our staff and faculty from the WVU School of Medicine Morgantown Campus.
