JW Traubert Mentor Award

Established in 1999 by the student body of the West Virginia University School of Medicine in honor of retiring Associate Dean of Student and Curricular Affairs, John W. Traubert, MD. Dr. Traubert joined the faculty in 1974 as the founding Chair of the Department of Family Medicine. He served as an Associate Dean for more than 13 years. The award winner is chosen by the students to recognize the faculty member who best displays the personal qualities demonstrated by Dr. Traubert. These are described as "student centered faculty member who displays the characteristics of honest and ethical communication, respect, approachability, positive attitude, and willingness to serve as a mentor.
