What’s Happening – Morgantown

HOLIDAY OFFICE HOURS. The Morgantown Office will be closed on Monday, December 25th and January 1st 2018. Otherwise the office will be open, with limited staff from 7:30am – 5:30pm. Many wishes for a joyous holiday season!

GRADUATION is Friday, May 11 at 6:00 pm in the Creative Arts Center. More details of the weekend will be released soon.

GTR 4 Mark your calendars, GTR 4 – SOAP/Match Data will be held on two occasions: Friday, January 5th from 3-4:30 in G119 and on Friday, January 19th from 3-4:30 pm.

GLOBAL HEALTH ROTATION INFO. Interested in a Global Health Rotation? The application and instructions for your narrative and CV due to Jacque Visyak by January 15.

GHHS NOMINATIONS - It’s time to collect peer recommendations and nominations for the Gold Humanism Honor Society for the Class of 2019! The short, 6 (six) question survey will allow you to select up to 3 (three) classmates that you believe best answer those questions. The survey will remain open until 5pm on December 22, 2017.

RURAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM The WVU Department of Family Medicine is pleased to announce that the applications for its innovative Rural Scholars Program are now available. This program is designed for students committed to making rural/small town Family Medicine in West Virginia a career.  Qualified MS III’s are eligible for a $10,000 stipend for their fourth year and facilitated admission to WVU’s Morgantown Family Medicine Residency.  The Rural Scholars Program allows for an enhanced primary care experience in the 4th year curriculum as well as early integration into the residency experience. Deadline for application is January 15, 2018.  Please contact Holly Maroon if you would like information on how to apply.

P&CD 2.5 Mark your calendars! Professional and Career Development 2.5 will be held Thursday, January 11 from 2-5 pm in 1905 HSC.

MS1 Class of 2021

P&CD 1.5. Mark your Calendars for P&CD 1.5 to be held Monday, January 8th from 5-6pm in 1909.We will discuss summer options and summer registration.

Be sure to purchase your tickets for the Snowball to be held on January 20th at the Hotel Morgan.

What’s Happening – Charleston

HOLIDAY OFFICE HOURS. The Charleston Office will be closed on Friday, December 22nd, Monday, December 25, Tuesday, December 26  and January 1st 2018. All other days will be normal business hours.

What’s Happening – Eastern

HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the Eastern Division Student Services office!!  We wish you a safe and joyous holiday season with your loved ones, and look forward to seeing you all in the spring semester.

IMPORTANT DATES

Tumor Board - Every Thursday, 8th Floor Classroom, 12:00-1:00pm. Different speakers and topics.  Lunch provided. 

PEDS Grand Rounds is broadcast from Morgantown every Wednesday 8-9 am. The first Wednesday is at the board room on the 8th floor of BMC.  Remaining sessions held at the ED conference room in ED of BMC.  If you are on a Pediatrics Week, please plan to attend.

VOLUNTEER Speaking Opportunity – Prostate Cancer Support Group is looking for students to speak on various prostate cancer topics for 15-20 minutes, with a potential Q&A session.  Meetings held 6:30-8:30pm on second Thursday of each month, 2nd floor of Dorothy McCormack Building.  Contact Dr. Paul Kradel, 304-267-2520, if interested.
