END OF YEAR WELLNESS EVENT sponsored by The Class of 2020 will be hosting an end of the year Wellness event to be held at Touchdown Terrace (Milan Puskar Stadium) on May 9th from 3pm-7pm. Please join the end of the year celebration and bring your plus one (1)! Please add your name(s) to our Google Doc so we can get a head count for attendance and we will add you to the Facebook event page for more information. ALL CLASSES ARE INVITED!

RURAL HEALTH SURVEY Please complete the attached survey for the WVU Institute for Community and Rural Health. The data from this survey will be used for a federal AHEC report. Students who return their completed survey will be entered into drawings for $500. Please return to Brianna Sheppard by May 15, drop in campus mail to Rural Health Box 9009, or bring it to HSC-N 3019.

Tumor Board - Every Thursday, 8th Floor Classroom, 12:00-1:00pm. May 10th: “Infection vs. Inflammatory Cancer” presented by Dr. Eric Bonnem (Hem/Onc) and Dr. Ryan Livengood (Pathology). 

PEDS Grand Rounds is broadcast from Morgantown every Wednesday 8-9 am. The first Wednesday is at the board room on the 8th floor of BMC.  Remaining sessions held at the ED conference room in ED of BMC.  If you are on a Pediatrics Week, please plan to attend.

Volunteer/Community Service Opportunities

Volunteer Speaking Opportunity – Prostate Cancer Support Group is looking for students to speak on various prostate cancer topics for 15-20 minutes, with a potential Q&A session.  Meetings held 6:30-8:30pm on second Thursday of each month, 2nd floor of Dorothy McCormack Building.  Contact Dr. Paul Kradel, 304-267-2520, if interested. 

Stepping Stones/Good Samaritan Free Clinic – Volunteers needed every Wednesday at 5pm and first Tuesday of each month at 5pm.  New location: 601 S. Raleigh Street, Martinsburg.  To volunteer or for additional information: MS3 Ayita Verna (agverna@mix.wvu.edu). 

Fun Volunteer Opportunity – Jefferson County Community Ministries Food Pantry, 238 W. Washington Street, Charles Town.  3rd Saturday of each month, beginning at 10am.  Volunteers will work with Dr. Maddie Humerick, Chef Scott, and others to assist the food pantry patrons to improve their nutrition status with monthly cooking demonstrations. CONGRATULATIONS!!  Please remember to meet for the Class Graduation photo outside the front entrance of the theater immediately after the ceremony.  It’s difficult to pull everyone together, but if you give us 10 minutes, we can get the pictures done.  See everyone there!!

MS3 Class of 2019

Nau Module:  Please make sure that you schedule your IM observed H&P during your last weekly rotation of Medicine.  This is required for your clerkship grade.  Do not wait until the last minute.  Please bring your completed observed H&P form to Jane. 

Rescheduled IPE Rounding – Wed., May 9th, 4-6pm, at Eastern HSC Mountaineer Room.  If you have not completed the IPE required SimLab event, please plan to report by 4pm to participate.
