The WVU Department of Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases provides expertise and care for patients with viral, bacterial, protozoal and fungal diseases. Scholarship and mentoring are cornerstones of our division as our residents, fellows, and faculty members work together in a learner-centered approach to education and service to the community. Working alongside our trainees, our expert providers evaluate patients with a wide range of infections including HIV infection/AIDS, bone and joint infections, hepatitis, influenza and more.

  • Consultation in infectious diseases for both inpatients and outpatients
  • Diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, including viral, bacterial, protozoal, and fungal
  • Diagnosis and treatment of HIV/AIDS
  • Expertise for travel-related and tropical diseases
  • Consultation on infection control policies and procedures
  • Consultation on methods for dealing with epidemics
  • Consultation on antimicrobial stewardship program
  • Pre-Exposure HIV Prophylaxis (PrEP) services
  • Hepatitis C clinic
