The program offers ample didactic opportunities for the fellows. Fellows have 3 conferences routinely every week. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning the fellows conference covers a variety of topics ranging from renal physiology, board review, conducting research to clinical nephrology.
Renal Grand Rounds:
Every week time is allocated for Renal grand rounds. During this time, fellows are able to present their research on topics of their choice for the section. Other presentations include:
-Review of interesting cases
-Guest speakers from other institutions
-Morbidity and mortality lecture
-Basic science lectures
-Ethics / palliative care
-Renal pathology review
Our fellows are encouraged to attend national meetings. First year fellows have the opportunity to attend the National Kidney Foundation annual meeting. Second year fellows are sent to the Renal Biopsy in Medical Diseases of the Kidney conference in NYC, as well as the American Society of Nephrology and Renal Physicians Association annual meeting.
