Service to the State
The West Virginia University Medical Laboratory Science Division is indeed fortunate to be affiliated with some of the finest health care facilities in the state of West Virginia. Not only do they serve as a base for clinical instruction, they are the site of care for countless West Virginians.
We provide learning opportunities throughout the state. Our primary teaching hospitals include West Virginia University Hospitals, including Ruby Memorial Hospital, West Virginia University Children's Hospital, and the Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center in Morgantown, West Virginia University Hospitals East - the merger of the former Martinsburg City Hospital and Jefferson Memorial Hospital in the eastern panhandle, Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, and Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston.
In addition, the faculty provide clinical support to the WVU Hospitals laboratories. While not providing direct patient care, the faculty provide support in research, quality assurance, education and training.
