Obstetrics / Gynecology Subinternship
LOCATION: Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, West Virginia

DURATION: 4 weeks (considered Subinternship) or 2 weeks (non-Subinternship- considered elective) You must contact the Ob/Gyn coordinator 1 month prior to your start date to develop a course syllabus firstname.lastname@example.org ( Course can focus strictly on Gynecology or Obstetrics but is at the discretion of the preceptor.)

STATUS: Elective or Subinternship / depending on time frame you select
Experience in clinical obstetrics and gynecology including ambulatory care, emergency care, man- agement of normal and high risk obstetrics during prenatal, intrapartum and post-partum periods, family planning, infertility management, diagnosis and management of gynecologic malignancies, gynecologic pathology and introduction of gynecological surgical techniques.
Methods to Achieve Objectives
Clinical experience is provided under the supervision of the full-time faculty, clinical faculty and the resident staff, in obstetrics and gynecologic clinics, labor and delivery rooms and the operating rooms. There are teaching conferences, ward rounds and didactic lectures given by the faculty.
