Objectives

This is an Infectious Diseases rotation in a private setting in rural West Virginia. Students will learn to diagnose and manage common and complex bacterial, viral, and fungal infections in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Methods to Achieve Objectives

Students will conduct supervised patient contact in the inpatient and outpatient setting to include inpatient rounds, clinic visits, and learn to present organized clinical history and physical examination to peer-group.

Evaluation Procedures and Evaluation Criteria

Daily observation and feedback on the student's physical examination skills, patient interaction, and ability to develop an effective plan of care.
