The Department of Neurology receives many questions related the the residency program and resident qualifications. We have tried to answer the most common questions below:

Do you have any time limit since year of graduation?

Yes, 10 years

Do you give PGY-1 as part of the Neurology residency or do you consider only PGY-2 positions?

Neurology Program at WVU is a categorical program for 4 years. This includes PGY1 and 3 years of neurology training.

Do you take Foreign Medical Graduates in your program?

Yes.

Do you sponsor H1 visas?

No, we only accept J1 visas or green card.

Do you ask for any prior US clinical experience?

Not mandatory, but preferred

Do you have any minimum score requirements?

No

What is the last date to apply to your program?

December 1, 2011

Do you need a valid ECFMG certificate at the time of application?

Not at the time of application but required by February 14, 2012.

How many positions do you have for the first year?

4

What is the program size?

16, 4 for each year in training.

Is research experience necessary?
