Requirements

We require the following documentation before an invitation to interview is granted:

  1. Graduation from an accredited LCME medical school, AOA medical schools and international medical schools (with current ECFMG certification).
  2. Certified medical school transcript
  3. Application for Neurology (ERAS)
  4. Personal statement
  5. Three letters of recommendation (current)
  6. Dean's letter or letter from current program director
  7. Passed Step 1 USMLE or COMLEX Level 1 (for DOs). Dates for scheduled/anticipated Step 2 CK or Level 2-CE.
  8. Valid J1 visa for International Medical Graduates. We do not sponsor H-1B visas.
  9. All applicants must be within 5 years of graduation from medical school.

International Medical Graduates

The Department of Neurology welcomes applications from qualified international medical graduates who seek post-graduate education in Neurology.  Additional requirements for the Neurology Residency Program include:

  1. Successful completion of at least four credit years and graduation from a medical school listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED)
  2. Successful completion of USMLE Parts I and II.
  3. ECFMG certification [for information, go to the website: Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates(ECFMG®)
  4. For International Medical Graduates who require a visa, please be advised that you must obtain a J-1 visa to train at our institution.  We do not sponsor H-1B visas.
