Alpha Omega Honor Society to host visiting professor for Medicine's Grand Rounds

The West Virginia Alpha Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) Honor Medical Society will induct 15 students and several residents, faculty members and alumni into the AΩA Friday, March 27.

The name of this national honor medical society comes from the three Greek letters AΩA, being the initials of the essential words in the following motto, "Be worthy to serve the suffering.”

Featured speaker at this year’s ceremony will be Michael B. Edmond, M.D., M.P.H., M.P.A., clinical professor of infectious diseases at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Dr. Edmond also serves as chief quality officer and associate chief medical officer at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Edmond will be the visiting professor for the 53rd anniversary of the WVU School of Medicine chapter for AΩA and will deliver Medicine Grand Rounds at 8 a.m. Friday, March 27, in Fukushima Auditorium. The title of his talk will be “The Power of Poop: Fecal Transplantation for C. difficile infection.” Medicine Grand Rounds are open to the entire medical community.
