Immunology and Medical Microbiology student, accepted into the McNair Scholars Program

Shelby Bradford was recently named a McNair Scholar.  The McNair Scholars Program is a federally-funded program that is designed to support first-generation and underrepresented students to prepare them to enter doctoral programs.  Shelby is the first in her family to attend college.  She graduated from Liberty High School in Clarksburg, WV and entered WVU in the Fall of 2013.

Shelby has participated in research in the laboratories of Dr. Rosana Schafer, Dr. Heath Damron and Dr. Mariette Barbier over the past year.  Shelby’s goal is to further her undergraduate research through the McNair Scholars Program and in the future obtain her Ph.D. and pursue a research career in microbiology.
