WISH Committee assisting with applications for women's professional development seminar

The American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) will begin accepting applications for the 2015 Mid-Career Women Faculty Professional Development Seminar in September 2015. The conference will be Dec. 12-15 in Austin, Texas.

This three and a half-day seminar is designed for women physicians and scientists holding medical school appointments at the associate professor level, and holding leadership positions within their discipline, department or institution. Women in the early stages of professional appointment are considered on an individual basis. Designed to provide mid-career faculty with the knowledge and skills required to continue advancing to leadership roles in academic medicine, this seminar covers a variety of leadership topics and emphasizes the skills related to the effective formation and use of teams.

For those WVU School of Medicine women faculty who are interested in applying, assistance is available through the HSC Women In Science and Health (WISH) Committee. Those interested in using the WISH Committee's services to complete the application process, including the letter of support and tuition assistance, should email gmarshall@hsc.wvu.edu.

The internal deadline date to complete the application is Sunday, August 30.
