Clinical Experience

The fellow will be involved in an average of over 500 cases during the one-year training program.  Each faculty member will spend time with the fellow in the operating room and clinic setting.  The fellow will spend one day a week in the clinic and have at least a half day a week dedicated to research.  Clinical experience will be gained in the following areas:

Hip

  • Primary arthroplasty
  • Complex primary arthroplasty
  • Revision arthroplasty
  • Complex pelvic reconstruction
  • Custom and megaprostheses
  • Post-traumatic arthritis
  • Periprosthetic fractures
  • Prosthetic joint infections
  • Robotic-assisted surgery
  • Arthroplasty for hip and acetabular fractures
  • Direct anterior, posterior, and lateral surgical approaches

Knee

  • Primary arthroplasty
  • Complex primary arthroplasty
  • Unicompartmental and patellofemoral arthroplasty
  • Revision arthroplasty
  • Megaprostheses
  • Post-traumatic arthritis
  • Periprosthetic fractures
  • Prosthetic joint infections
  • Computer and robotic-assisted surgery
  • Arthroplasty for distal femur fractures
