Cardiovascular health in pregnancy to be focus of next West Virginia University and Johns Hopkins Rural Health Convos virtual session

Collaboration continues between West Virginia University School of Public Health and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as their Rural Health Initiative series resumes with the Rural Health Convos: From Pregnancy to Practice—Infrastructure for Rural Health Research virtual discussion.

Join investigators on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. via Zoom, to discuss the Mountain Mama & Baby Cohort Study as it relates to a study on cardiovascular health in pregnancy and expand into broader discussions of rural health research infrastructure.

‌Bethany Barone Gibbs, Ph.D., professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at WVU School of Public Health; Becky Reece, M.D., FACP, associate professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at WVU School of Medicine; and Liz Selvin, Ph.D., MPH, professor and director of the Welch Center for Epidemiology and Clinical Research at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, will cover strategies for recruiting representative samples, building sustainable community-engaged studies, and leveraging existing resources for collaborative research.
