Process helps essential employees with hotel accommodations; discounts available for other employees (updated)
The WVUH Hospitals' COVID-19 Hotel Program has been created and is making reservations for those essential employees working on the Ruby campus that meet one of these criteria:
- WVUH / UHA / Residents / Faculty – essential employee working on COVID units (MICU, 6SE, 8SE, ED) or exposed to COVID positive patient
- WVUH / UHA / Residents / Faculty – essential employee exposed to a COVID Person Under Investigation (PUI) that has not been confirmed yet
- WVUH / UHA /Residents / Faculty – essential employee working on site who is concerned about exposure to family
- WVUH / UHA / Residents / Faculty – working extended hours on site and requiring uninterrupted rest time
The employee or supervisor can submit the request for a reservation to the COVID-19 Hotel Program by completing the information in the Hotel Program Request Form, with the following information:
- Employee’s name
- Job title/employer/department,
- Supervisor’s name
- Phone number/e-mail/address
- Check-in date/time and checkout date/time
- Work schedule
- Reason for the room reservation
A COVID-19 Hotel Program representative will contact the employee with hotel details and confirmation number. COVID-19 Hotel Program representatives are available during normal business hours. Please submit your information for a reservation during those times. Six hours’ notice in advance of needing a reservation is appreciated. Outside regular business hours, please contact the House Supervisor at 304-598-4069 for assistance.

For employees who don’t meet the criteria, several Morgantown hotels have offered discounts for WVU Medicine providers and staff who want to isolate themselves from their families during the pandemic.
