Medicine Grand Rounds: Dr. McCartney to give presentation on Vitamin D
Christopher McCartney, M.D., will give a presentation on Vitamin D during the Department of Medicine grand rounds on Friday, Aug. 9, from 12-1 p.m.
Dr. McCartney is a professor and the vice chair of research for the Department of Medicine. His presentation is titled "Vitamin D, Icarus and the Power of Guidelines (for Better or for Worse.)"
Following this presentation, participants should understand the Endocrine Society's new recommendations on Vitamin D intake and 25-hydroxyvitamin D testing for primarily healthy adult populations. Participants should also understand why the Endocrine Society recently withdrew endorsement of prior Vitamin D sufficiency definitions and become more acquainted with the GRADE methodology for developing trustworthy clinical guidelines.
