New Faculty Orientation welcomes WVU Health Sciences and WVU Medicine faculty
New faculty members from WVU Health Sciences and WVU Medicine are invited to attend New Faculty Orientation on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Bruce McClymonds Conference Center.
The program will provide an engaging introduction to the resources, opportunities, and connections that can help new faculty members transition to WVU.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet key hospital and Health Sciences Center leaders and connect with colleagues across the academic and clinical communities. They can learn about promotion and tenure, faculty development opportunities, research resources, trainee supervision, faculty wellness initiatives, important policies, and more. The program will also feature practical advice from current faculty about what they wish they had known during their first year at WVU.
A light breakfast and a grab-and-go lunch will be provided.
Parking:
If you already have an assigned parking spot or typically park in employee parking, please do so on the day of the event. Faculty attending offsite locations who do not have campus parking are welcome to park in the visitor parking lot for the duration of the orientation event on 9/29. Upon arrival, please stop at the parking booth and inform the attendant that you are attending the New Faculty Orientation.
Directions:
The Bruce McClymonds Conference Center is located on the first floor of the Heart and Vascular Institute at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. From the main hospital lobby (near Starbucks), turn at Starbucks down either of the hallways immediately adjacent to the Starbucks (if you have your back to the main entrance and are facing Starbucks, this will be a right turn and if you are facing the front door with your back to the stairs it will be a left turn). If you have turned down the hallway with the Transplant Alliance at the start of the hallway, take this hall until you reach the HVI elevators. Once you reach the elevators, turn right towards the elevators and the lobby of the HVI and Bruce McClymonds will be immediately in front of you.
If you take the hallway on the other side of Starbucks—you will see the gift shop on your left and the discharge pharmacy in this hallway, take it straight until you come to a small lobby with only an exit door, make a left (only way you can go and stay in the building) and you will be in the HVI lobby with Bruce McClymonds on your right.
