New providers – November/December 2019

The following providers joined WVU Medicine in November and December:

BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE AND PSYCHIATRY

Muruga Loganathan, MD, has joined WVU Medicine as a child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Chestnut Ridge Center. Dr. Loganathan formerly practiced in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, as medical director at New Directions Children’s Partial Hospitalization Program and at Chestnut Ridge Counseling Services.

HEART AND VASCULAR INSTITUTE

Jason Lamb, MD, has joined the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute as the director of thoracic surgical quality and co-director of outreach thoracic services in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Lamb formerly practiced at UPMC.

David Schwartzman, MD, has joined the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute as section chief of electrophysiology. Dr. Schwartzman was formerly the director of cardiac electrophysiology at Butler Health System.

Remesh Daggubati, MD, has joined the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute as associate chief of cardiology and director of Structural Heart Program. Dr. Daggubati is the former associate chief of cardiology, program director of interventional cardiology, and director of cardiac catheterization labs at NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola, New York.

OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY

Karen Anderson, CNM, has joined WVU Medicine as a midwife at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Previously, she worked with Planned Parenthood South Atlantic and at the University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital.

ORTHOPAEDICS

Mary Louise Russell, MD, has joined WVU Medicine as a pediatric physiatrist, who has double board certification in pediatrics, and in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Russell previously practiced at the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh.

UROLOGY

Edward Zagula, MD, has joined WVU Medicine as an urologist at Garrett Regional Medical Center and Potomac Valley Hospital. Dr. Zagula’s former practice was in Annapolis, Maryland at Anne Arundel Medical Center and Anne Arundel Urological Surgery Center. He was also on staff at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
