Providers, staff can contribute to new WVU Medicine Children's Hospital through CARES initiative

WVU Medicine Children's is launching its WVU Medicine CARES initiative today (Sept. 25) to help raise funds for the new WVU Medicine Children's Hospital.

"Our new WVU Medicine Children's Hospital will be a shining point of pride for all of us – a visible result of the teamwork and commitment to excellence all of our providers and staff strive to exemplify each and every day," said Albert L. Wright, Jr., president and CEO. "The hospital’s final beam is in place, work is progressing at a rapid clip, but there is still much work to be done."

The WVU Medicine CARES initiative allows providers and staff to select and contribute to the WVU Medicine Children’s area of their choice.

"If you are a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) parent or grandparent, you can choose to support that unit," said Wright. "Maybe the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or our birthing center is especially close to your heart."

Donating to your preferred area couldn’t be easier, as any amount can be deducted through payroll. And providers and employees who contribute $50 or more will have their name permanently displayed in the new hospital.

"Remember, no commitment is too small in this community effort," said Wright. "Every dollar counts, and your support matters very much to children and families all over our region."
