Seventh annual Anthony G. DiBartolomeo Internal Medicine Conference marks another successful year

The West Virginia University Department of Medicine proudly hosted the seventh annual Anthony G. DiBartolomeo Internal Medicine Conference on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025 at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place.

Established as part of The Anthony G. DiBartolomeo Professorship, the conference continues to honor Dr. DiBartolomeo’s legacy of dedication to the WVU School of Medicine, the Department of Medicine and the education of future physicians in West Virginia.

This year’s event welcomed 109 attendees from all over the region and the WVU Eastern Campus, reflecting steady growth in participation and strong interest in the wide range of topics presented.

Conference course director, Brooke Shannon, D.O., FACP, led the program for the first time this year, guiding a full agenda of timely presentations delivered by expert faculty.

“Serving as the course director for the Dr. DiBartolomeo Conference was an incredibly meaningful experience—I was inspired by the enthusiasm of our speakers, the engagement of our participants and the strong support from our sponsors. What stood out most was the sense of community and collaboration; the conference not only advanced learning but also strengthened connections across the WVU Department of Medicine and beyond,” Dr. Shannon said.

The Department of Medicine looks forward to building on this year’s success and continuing to expand the reach of the conference in 2026—bringing even more learners and providers together to advance internal medicine education and strengthen connections across West Virginia and beyond.
