Three IMMB students selected to be Spring 2026 Presidential Student Ambassadors

Catherine Evans, Daniel Kaddar and Sarah Rahin, sophomore Immunology and Medical Microbiology students at the West Virginia University School of Medicine, have been selected to serve as Spring 2026 Presidential Student Ambassadors.

This semester, 13 students were chosen to serve and represent West Virginia University. First- and second-year students are nominated by WVU professors or may apply on their own with two faculty recommendations. Responsibilities of presidential student ambassadors include attending University-sanctioned events, mentoring prospective and current students and participating in social media efforts.

Evans, a former hometown ambassador for the IMMB program, knew she had a passion for sharing her journey and love for WVU. Beyond her ambassador roles, Evans is also a Health Sciences college senator for the WVU Student Government Association, treasurer of the Collegiate 4-H Club and a member of Alpha Phi Omega.

“I am most looking forward to getting to connect with others,” Evans said. “Whether they are students, staff, faculty, alumni or just anyone, I am excited to share my knowledge and love of WVU.”

Kaddar is eager to embrace this opportunity and further develop skills that will benefit his future leadership. He is the triage co-chair for the WVU Global Medical and Global Dental Brigades, a member of the WVU's student chapter of the American Society for Microbiology and a resident assistant for the West Virginia Governor’s Honors Academy.

“I am excited to further my leadership skills and strategies, develop valuable public speaking techniques and connect with people and programs across campus while representing President Benson’s office,” Kaddar said.

Rahin’s main focus as a presidential student ambassador is to show prospective students what WVU and the School of Medicine have to offer. She is also the vice president of the Iranian Students Association, secretary of WVU's student chapter of the American Society for Microbiology and a member of the Pre-Medical Club.

“As a West Virginia native, I am so excited to connect with other Mountaineers and promote our beautiful state,” Rahin said.
