WVU Medicine dependent tuition assistance application period for summer/fall ends today

The application period for the dependent tuition assistance programs for Summer and Fall 2019 opens tomorrow (April 10) for those dependents who will attend West Virginia University at the Morgantown, Beckley, or Keyser campuses, or WVU Online.

The application period runs from April 10 through April 24. During this time frame, you must complete the Life Event in UltiPro and provide documentation that your dependent meets the program requirements. Please note: Employees are required to complete the Life Event applicable to the semester for which they are requesting tuition assistance.

Eligibility Criteria

Employees must have at least five years of service based upon their "Benefits Seniority Date" and no disciplinary process at a Level 2 or above in the previous 12 months. Employee eligibility will be based on employment status and years of service as of May 15 for Summer and/or August 15 for Fall. Actions to Take Now

1. Complete the application for all federal and state grants and/or scholarships (this does not include loans or 529 savings accounts).

2. Certify eligible dependent. If you have not previously uploaded document(s) to certify your dependent(s), you will need to do so to certify your dependent for this program. Just submit a birth certificate or federal tax form.

3. Obtain the following documents:

  • Proof of enrollment for WVU Summer 2019 and/or Fall 2019 semester (showing full-time status/12+ credits) and proof of GPA 3.0 or greater (cumulative GPA) from Fall 2018 (WVU will verify Spring 2019 once semester grades are released). Click here for a sample.
  • Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Summary. Students have to complete the FAFSA only once each academic year. Learn more: www.fafsa.gov

4. Upload required documents (birth certificate or federal tax return) in UltiPro; select the category "Tuition Reimbursement Program." (Do not enter an expiration date.)

All documents are required to be uploaded no later than the last day of the application period.

Employees covered under a separate collective bargaining agreement are not eligible for this program.
