Endocrinology Assistant Professor

West Virginia University is seeking Assistant (or Associate) Professor(s) in Endocrinology outpatient positions. Positions are primarily clinical; hours vary and include call. Positions will be based in Berkeley and Jefferson counties. Job duties include: clinical time in outpatient clinic; teaching medical students and residents; occasionally consulting on patients in hospital; and scholarly activities are highly encouraged.  Must have MD or DO degree and successfully completed an Internal Medicine residency program and fellowship in Endocrinology. WV Medical License and DEA certificate are required by start date. Candidates should be BC in Internal Medicine and BE or BC in Endocrinology. 

Berkeley Medical Center is a 195-bed licensed facility, with 55,000 ED visits annually. The ICU was recently expanded and updates and now has 20 beds. BMC has new NICU and more than 1,000 births annually. BMC has wound care center with two hyperbaric chambers.

Our Eastern Panhandle location is little more than an hour from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD. A rural atmosphere and a lower cost of living mixed with the easy accessibility to the Washington DC / Baltimore areas make the Eastern Panhandle an ideal place in which to live. While Berkeley County is among the fastest growing counties in the state, there is little congestion and traffic. In recent years, a steady influx of urban professionals from nearby Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland - have contributed to the growth of local telecommuting and high-tech industries.
