Pulmonary/CCM Fellowship Program

The Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine fellowship at West Virginia University is a three year fully-accredited integrated ACGME Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine program leading to eligibility for certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both of these subspecialties.

Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Educational Responsibilities

The fellow interacts closely with faculty members and contributes to the supervision of residents and students. Presentations in the Core Lecture Series, the Critical Care Medicine Lecture Series, and the Clinical Pathology Conference are expected. Fellows serve as preceptors in physical diagnosis for medical students and on hospital committees such as the Hospital Ethics Committee.

Pulmonary Facilities

The Pulmonary fellowship program is based at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of West Virginia University. The major sites for clinical activities are the University Hospital, a 600 bed tertiary referral center, and the Physician Office Center which houses the Pulmonary outpatient facilities.
