Emergency Medical Services (EMS) / Rescue
LOCATION: Monongalia Emergency Medical Service, 801 JD Anderson Drive - Morgantown, West Virginia
PRECEPTOR: Scott Benson, M.D., F.A.C.E.P.
DURATION: 2 weeks minimum
MAXIMUM ENROLLMENT: 2 students
To gain knowledge about the various aspects of EMS and pre-hospital care including field stabilization/transport, field rescue, communication, administration, and review of ACLS, ATLS, PALS protocols.
Method to Achieve Objective
Students will have an active role in field transports and rescue operations with Monongalia EMS personnel under the supervision of Dr. Benson. Also, the student will directly observe the administrative aspects of EMS operations and the policy-making process at the local and state level.
Examination Procedures and Evaluation Criteria
Written evaluation by Dr. Benson.
