Pediatric Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery

Objectives

Expose student to pediatric congenital heart patients, thoracic and vascular pediatric patients and adults with congenital heart disease.

Methods to Achieve Objectives

The student will participate in clinic, daily rounds, attend teaching conference, prepare to operations and participate in preoperative and post operative care.  Student will participate in informal discussions on preoperative and post operative patients, cardiac defects and pre and post operative care and complications. 

Examination Procedures and Evaluation Criteria

Student will have an informal evaluation: A final written evaluation will be generated by the preceptor based on student's attendance and participation in clinic, rounds and operating room.
