Girl Scout's World Thinking Day

Neuroscience students joined the Women in Science organization on February 23rd, 2019 to celebrate the Girl Scout’s World Thinking Day! We were able to teach over 80 scouts about genetics and how the brain works—and show off some female STEM power as well!

Tricking your Taste Buds with the Girl Scouts

Graduate students visited with a local girl scout troop at Eastwood Elementary School to give a short-but-fun demonstration on how we can trick out taste buds. Using the supposed “miracle berries” – which really just block your sour taste receptor, we made pure lemon juice taste like lemonade!
